The fair is an annual Kracovian tradition, anticipated by both the inhabitants of the city and the visitors. As usual, from late November till the end of December the stalls in the Main Square
of the Old Town offer all kinds of ideas for Christmas gifts or souvenirs for our family and friends. In the piles of pretty things it is also possible to find something for ourselves and our homes: there are beautiful Christmas decorations made of glass, plastic and fir as well as lots of practical things which may prove useful after the holiday.
The Municipal Authorities of Krakow have made sure that the buyers will enjoy a bit of entertainment during their shopping at the fair. Throughout December, on the stage next to the stalls, we will see some interesting events: on 12th December, for example, we will have a chance to watch the artists from Bratislava, Brno, Lviv and Krakow, of course, who will perform as a part of the project called “Bridges Between Cities.” On Friday (18th December) the theatre group called “Adalex” will enhance our Christmas mood with their wonderful “Nativity Play by Lucjan Rydel,” this atmosphere will be additionally intensified on 19th December with the most interesting event of this year’s fair – the Carollers’ Parade which will start by the Floriańska Gate and finish on the stage near the Old Town Hall in the Main Square.
And if you have problems preparing your Christmas meal, you will definitely find inspiration during the first edition of the festival called “Christmas-eve’s Tastes of Małopolska” which will take place between 18th and 21st December. During the festival, on 20th December at 12 o’clock, the President of the City and the Cardinal Archbishop of Krakow will share wafer with the inhabitants of Krakow.
Therefore, do not hesitate and visit the Main Square of Krakow in December!
