The road World Film Festival “Ale Kino”! is a real Polish phenomenon which cannot be compared to any other similar event in terms of presenting the audience with the cinema from the most distant areas of the world. The event is a real “window” on the different, but extremely interesting cultures, traditions, customs which are contained in cinematography. Most of the films presented at the World Film Festival would not have a chance to be distributed in Polish cinemas, which is a pity as they are often amazing works of art awarded at many international festivals. That is why, it is worth seeing at least some of them.
On this, fifth edition, of the Festival it will be possible to see about 20 films. Conscious and mature Asian cinema has a dominating position and due to its fresh perception of reality it constitutes a good balance for hackneyed film patterns of Hollywood. Representations of other continents will also be there – for example African and South-American films had very good reviews. A prominent event of this Festival will be a show of the winning (this year’s Berlinale) “Bitter Milk” by a Peruvian, Claudia Llosa, the author of a renowned “Madeinusa.”
The Festival which takes place in several Polish cities chose a special place in Krakow, the “Pod Baranami” cinema which recently has been announced, by a chain “Europa Cinemas,” a cinema with the best repertory in Europe. All the Festival details are available on www.filmyswiata.pl
