This charity event does not have to be extensively advertised as most Poles know it very well. All the Final’s concerts, performances and money raising have become an annual celebration in Poland which will take place on 10th January in 2010. This year the Orchestra will collect money for the children with oncological problems for the second time in its history. As usual Krakow is well prepared to participate in this event in various ways.
On the second Sunday of the year you should visit the Community Centre of Nowa Huta where lots of artistic performances will take place at 4 p.m. Amongst others you will have a chance to see dance groups “Bit,” “Flesz Dance”, a music theatre “Nowa Akademia” and a band from the mountains “Hamernik.”
This is not the end of attractions –you will also be able to see an exhibition of Michał Pasich’s photos combined with the auction of his works. The money raised that way will be, of course, donated to the Orchestra. The photos, which interpret the works by Rembrandt are going to be displayed in Wyspiański Pavilion a week before the Great Final.
The Krakovian Great Final will start at 12 o’clock on the Main Square with performances of many music groups from Krakow. During the concert an auction of valuable items and money collecting are going to take place. And, finally, at 8 p.m. the whole event will finish with the traditional “Light to Heaven” – a firework display.
