Parking Zones in Krakow

Driving around Krakow can be frustrating. Some traffic signs have a lot of information written on them, you read them carefully, you obey speed limits – and suddenly plonk! You get a ticket. Why? You entered the wrong zone. It happens not only to visitors, but also to the locals who have some errands to do in the area of the Main Square.

Below there are some useful information thanks to which driving and parking in the centre of Krakow will cease to be a nightmare.
Find a location and plan your visit in the centre of Krakow.

Zone A (Strefa A) This zone is only for pedestrians and bikers. The zone comprises the Main Square and the following streets: Szewska, Sławkowska, Floriańska, part of Sienna (from Mały Rynek to the Main Square), part of Grodzka (from the Main Square to Poselska), Kanonicza, Senacka, part of Pijarska (from Szpitalna to Floriańska). In this zone all vehicular traffic is prohibited and can be entered only by pedestrians and bikers.

Zone B (Strefa B) Residential zone where cars can drive with a maximum speed of 20 km/h and where parking is allowed only in parking zones.
The zone covers a dozen or so streets around Planty and parts of Długa, Basztowa and Karmelicka. In this zone the pedestrians have an absolute right of way and the maximum speed of vehicles should not exceed 20 km/h. Parking is possible only in special parking zones.

Zone C (Strefa C) From Monday to Saturday between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. you have to use parking cards which can be bought in kiosks, post offices or from traffic wardens. Parking fee for 1 hour – PLN 3.
This zone comprises several dozen of streets surrounding Planty, mostly between the centre and Aleja Trzech WieszczĂłw. Time limit of a car stop have been eliminated in the zone. Parking cards can be bought in kiosks, post offices, the City Council and from traffic wardens.
